About Oscar

Welcome Oscar. He is a 10-year old Piebald Dachshund. He is sweet, goofy and loves to go on walks. He is up on his shots, neutered and ready for his forever home. He and his sister, Winnie, were owned by a 96-year-old man and he passed away. They are bonded and we would love them to be adopted together. We have had them in separate foster homes to see how they did and it was fine. However, it was a very cheerful meeting when we put them back together. Winnie is blind or sees only shadows and has been since birth. Oscar is a great big brother and he looks out for her and shows her the ropes. He has been in the foster home as an only dog and while it worked he prefers other small dog companionship so being with Winnie is the ultimate place for Oscar. He can hold up to 4 hours and will go on a pee pee pad. He is friendly to stranger and comes alive around kids and acts like he is a kid himself. He is a huge fan of walks and you would swear he is only 2 by his energy and playfulness. Dachshunds have been known to live up to the possible age of 18 so they truly are only middle age. Winnie likes to sleep with her humans and is very nice and still in the bed. She will cry if you don't allow her to sleep with you. Oscar currently sleeps in the kitchen and has been holding his potty until we wake up. We are looking for a family familiar with the Dachshund breed and someone retired or working part time or a dog walker letting them out every 4 hours is the best scenario. His adoption fee is 185 and transport is 185. They are in Texas and can be adopted locally or transported to the East or the West Coast.
