About Penny

Penny is a 35lb hound, we aren't sure of the exact breed. We've recently moved from NH to NJ and are having an extremely hard time finding an affordable place that accepts her in the NYC area. She's great with kids, other animals, and people! Penny has been around dogs, my pregnant fiancee, our newborn kids, played with the kids from when they were newborns until now, and she's been around other animals like cats, chickens, rabbits and horses. She's a great dog with a huge heart and lot's of spirit. Up in NH we brought her on long nature hikes, out to the gun range, to swim in the local rivers, and she just loved it. She's also a total couch potato at home if you aren't making her work. Penny is a real sweetheart, she sleeps with either me or the kids every night, she's patient at bathtime, and has no food aggression. She would probably be best with a person with a strong voice and personality as she's used to me taking her in crazy situations like out in the woods, to strangers houses, etc. and she can give in to her animal temptations if not dealt with sternly. She has great recall and will sit and wait on command, fetch, etc., if told with the proper amount of authority. She has all her vaccinations, obedience training, and great references from everyone who knows her. She's about 4 years old.
