About Chinchilla

Adoption Fee: $100
Small Mammal
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

This is a bonded pair that must be adopted together. Why am I rehoming the chins: Unfortunately, with two kids under two, I am not able to give the chins sufficient time and attention. Personalities: Chester: He's a grump, but he's all bark and no bite. He lives for his daily cranberry. He is about 8 years old. Hamilton: She's nutty. She loves to jump and go fast. She is about 7 years old. Neither cares to be held or touched; however, they will eat snacks out of your hand. Ideally, their next owner will have time to work on this. History: I adopted Chester and Hamilton from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria in 2011. According to the intake forms, their original owner received Chester as a gift and placed him in the same cage as her female chinchilla. Along came baby Hamilton%BD'%BD| Chester and Hamilton were then surrendered to AWLA where they remained for about four months. They were pretty stressed out by the experience (their cage was in a high traffic area and dog barking was very audible). When I adopted the pair, I was required to take them to the vet for a checkup. It was here that we discovered Chester and Hamilton were not father and son - they were father and daughter. I informed AWLA and AWLA paid to have both spayed and neutered. Chester did NOT like the experience%BD'%BD| Since then, life has been pretty quiet and routine for them. I clean the cage weekly and give them daily play time outside the cage. Accessories: - Cage (Critter Nation) with all ledges, wheel - Travel/emergency cage (folds and fits under the primary cage) - Pet fence - Two pet carriers - Any supplies I have remaining (Food, twigs, toys, bath dust, bedding, etc.)
