About Sammie

Meet Sammie! He is a Lab mix, approx. 80 pounds, 5-6 years old. Sammie has been with us for well over six months now. We are just posting him for adoption for the first time. Sammie needed the time to trust humans again although he clearly loves them. Sammie was mistreated and left abandoned for so long he lost confidence and walked about as if he was walking on hot coals or glass. To know Sammie is to love him because he is the most gentle soul spiritually and in person. It breaks your heart to know someone was horribly mean to this awesome boy! Tears swell in your eyes daily knowing he is so gentle, so loving and yet had to experience such horror from human kind. Sammie doesn't jump up or pull and allows you to easily attach his leash to his collar. Sammie waits patiently for you and will walk right next to you on a leash. He enjoys being loved on and given kisses and he does the same. He is truly most affectionate! Sammie is a great companion who would enjoy each day spent with someone special. He is most definitely a ladies boy and although likes certain men its understood one mistreated him. He is very smart and knows what you are made out of so if you are not much of a dog lover do not apply. Sammie knows good dog loving people and will gravitate towards them. Sammie is fine around other dogs, good around kids and I couldn't imagine him being mean to a cat or anyone else. He is house broken and crate train and not a chewer. He may require a little time to adjust to a new home and will also need a fenced in yard to play and walk around in. He will need a gentle and loving individual that can provide TLC and take him to the next level of his greatness. We love Sammie and want only the best home for this sweet and loving boy! Sammie is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heart worm tested positive but on treatment and microchipped.
