Angel is a purebred King German Shepard and she is a little over 2 years old. We have had her since she was a puppy. She is great with cats (just wants to play) and kids. She is very friendly and does know most basic commands. She is a bit stubborn at times as all German Shepards are. Angel has a horrible allergy, it makes her skin scaley, she has an unpleasant smell even though we bathed her more than twice a week. We have had her to the vet quite a bit and even changed vets to make sure we covered all bases! We've tried changing her food to all natural, no poultry and/or artificial ingredients. She would improve with the food and then a few days later, she is going nuts itching. The vet has given us a lot of medicine to try which again, did help but she never gets to her 100% health. With the food, which was very expensive because that's what she needed, the vet bills, buying all natural shampoo/bath products, treats and all the medicine that's been prescribed has depleted all our funds on a monthly basis. With 2 kids, 10 and 13 to take care of and me and my husband are on limited income, we just can't afford to keep spending all this money with just guessing if it will work or not. She is suffering horribly, she hasn't been herself in months. My daughter and her are very close so she still gets playful at times like she used to but for the most part she lays around, acts confused and chews on herself. We can't keep seeing her destroying herself and we can't do anything else to help her, we just don't have the money. I wanted to take her to an allergist but when I found out how much they are, that changed. We also were going to get blood work done but again, about $300 for blood tests is beyond what we can afford. I really hope someone can help her. Maybe someone that is used to seeing this type of reaction in GSD. Somebody that can give and provide her with a better life that she so much deserves. She hasn't been Angel in so long that I want to cry every time I look at her. I feel helpless anymore. I hope to find her a home with the love and care she needs and requires.
