About Sammi

Sammi: 2-3 yrs; Sex: Male; Weight:38 lbs; Activity Level: Companion/Active Companion; Border Collie/Beagle Mix; Coat: Smooth Short Fur. Sammi is a very outgoing, smart, respectful pup who was lost and needed a positive person in his life to understand him. Being the social pup that Sammi is when his owners left or left him in neighborhood near the airport he was greeting all the people taking out their trash and on their way for the day hoping someone would take him in especially with heavy windy rains! His savior and foster mom wondered why someone would punish this sweet boy who did have some separation anxiety but walks lovely on the leash, would make a great jogging partner, great with people and children and fantastic with dog and cats who are used to active dogs. Sammi has become very confidant and fast learner; changing his old life of being called for into hand signals and shown that he can take any treat and food, no punishing Mr Sammi. He is a soft dog, true to Beagle form he loves to use his nose to smell you and smell on walks and needing a secure yard and supervised outside (6 feet no holes) in parks to play in. Oh boy does he love to: jump in the car; settle inside if you're watching tv; talk to you if you're on the computer and or phone so he can share in your focus; playing with toys and balls inside and outside always supervised BUT he can't be off the leash in unsecured areas- because he loves to go super-fast and explore!! He will need his owner to give him a break on work day being alone up to 4-6 hours using baby gates for boundaries from the bedrooms and office areas, he can be crated for vet or daycare which he loves to go to. Sammi is up to date on vaccines, house trained, and loves to bond with dogs and people and kids but he is active so kids we suggest 6 and up. His adoption donation $125 provided an application and home visits; he can travel for the right home-adopter pays for transport and required vetting.
