About FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED

Luke AKA Lucky is a star pupil! We've renamed him because coming to know his personality he is such a cool dude and Luke just suits him. Luke spent most of his life on a chain in the backyard with another dog until the people that owned them didn't want to take the time to feed them and dumped them at a kill shelter. Luke was saved from death row but went right from the shelter to a kennel because a foster wasn't available. After being in a shelter like environment for Luke became extremely anxious and fearful. Some dogs find this type of isolation from humans extremely stressful especially over long periods of time. Luke is a dog who loves his humans and needs the companionship of people. His rescue recognized that something needed to be done to ease his stress so they enrolled him in a board and train where his training has helped him work through the anxiety and given him a new confidence. He has learned to communicate with his handler which has also helped him because now he understands what his human expects of him. Next Wednesday he'll be graduating and will need a home to go to. The trainer will work with his foster or adoptive person so that person will be able to communicate with him in the same way the trainer does. This sweet 6 year old lab mix, just wants to be with his person. He just eats up any attention he gets. If you have room in your heart for lots more love, consider Luke.
