About Franklin

Adoption Fee: $60
German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Franklin a 10 month old Sable Male German Shepherd. Franklin is a gorgeous boy with lots of love and personality to offer to a new family! He is the most love-able, bouncy goofball you will ever meet! He was rescued from going to the pound by a Good Samaritan who is currently fostering him. His previous owner had young children and a fenced in back yard where he spent his days. He has not been crate trained and to our knowledge was never house trained. He seems to do well with other dogs but does have a tendency to mount them, as he is still intact. He had never been on a leash or in a car until his Good Samaritans rescued him! He is by no means leash trained and will try his hardest to sit in your lap when riding in the vehicle. The reason his previous family gave him up was due to his high energy and the fact that he was jumping up on the children. Due to his size and activity level a home with older children or no children is preferred. Franklin is basically an oversized 10 week old puppy. He will require dedication, patience and training. He has amazing potential and is very alert! And to his benefit is still young and eager to learn. He has already adjusted so much now that he has found love and affection. Franklin is not good with cats and probably smaller dogs too! He is very driven and with his size as well as his lack of training I could take caution. He would be ideal for someone who works from home, is retired, and/or has a large yard/farm for him to romp and play! He has not yet been neutered and also needs to be updated on his vaccines (we are getting this in the works). Adopters will be asked for vet references, possible home visit and have to be approved by his foster parents! Franklin has a long way to go to learn all his manners but the unconditional love he has is priceless! With the right home and person we know he will be a cherished companion.
