About KAYLA

Kayla is an eager-to-please 4-year-old gray-with-white spayed female Pit Bull and Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from a high-intake public shelter. Weighing 55 lbs, Kayla is the ultimate lovebug! She is so happy, affectionate, and fun to be around. Her tail wags constantly with excitement to meet new people. Kayla is housebroken and has done well while left home alone in her foster home; she is currently also in obedience class with her foster mom and getting smarter every day! She is working on leash manners, because she does pull when excited. She is gentle and loves to be pet and, if you let her, she will crawl onto your lap for snuggling. She loves to go on walks, and would appreciate a home where she can have a daily walk and some time running around the yard. Kayla's former owner told us she is great with kids, and we think she'd enjoy being a family dog. She is not good with cats, so we are not recommending her for households with small animals. Kayla is working on feeling more confident around other dogs, but would do best starting out at as a solo dog so her new family can get to know her and work with her as needed. Kayla will be an awesome addition as an indoor dog in an active household excited to have a loving, playful pooch be a central part of the family.
