I have a pit bull husky mix and have had problems with extreme separation anxiety since we got him. He is SUPER well trained when everyone is home. He is house trained, and follows commands such as sit, lay down, play dead, shake, go to bed, get out of the kitchen, spit it out, and more. He has never shown any aggression to my children or family and they have been a part of his training. He really is a wonderful dog! About a year ago a neighborhood kid forced his way into my house when my husband and I were not home. He bit the kid and it required stitches. Then about three weeks ago a neighborhood kid was in our yard when our son took him outside on a leash. Colby bolted out the door and bit the kid in our yard. Due to this my neighbors feel unsafe and their kids are no longer allowed to come over. My son has been excluded from his friends and I can't say I blame my dog, but I don't blame the parents either. I have to find him a new home, or put him down. I don't think it is fair that he should have to die for protecting his family but I don't know what to do. I believe with behavioral training and someone educated in these matters, he will be a great dog.
