About SAMMY

SAMMY�'�|is a magnificent BLUE POINT RAGDOLL. He is between 7 and 8 years old, neutered and has his claws. Sammy is a BIG BOY, registering at 17 pounds, and he has a fluffy long coat in grays and white and lively blue eyes. Sammy came to SPCR as an emergency when his elderly owner died in front on him, leaving him and a number of other pets utterly homeless. Fortunately we were just able to squeeze him in and he has adapted well in care. Sammy is a gentle giant, very sweet natured and easy to love. Because he lived with an elderly woman in a very quiet situation most of his life he does have a shy side and needs time to warm up with new people and situations. He gets along very well with other cats that do not bully him and he did live with older dogs in his previous home. Sammy is happiest when he has a warm sunny window to curl up in and watch birds. He likes to follow his foster caregiver around but is not needy or pushy. He is quietly affectionate and just a lovely boy. The best home for him would be quiet, adult and used to the grooming needs of long haired cat. His new people would also have to be committed to getting a few pounds off this big boy as well. Even though Sammy is structurally large, like any male Ragdoll, he is pudgy, but quality canned food and more exercise would fix that pretty quickly.
