Hello, my name is Rhetta and my story is a sad one. I used to be loved by my people very much and was even used as an emotional support dog. However, when things changed, I ended up dumped at the local pound where I sat there in a corner of my pen shaking, totally confused, terrified and completely broken. The nice men down there figured out that I am so house trained that I wouldn't even use the bathroom in my pen, so they were kind enough to take me for walks to do my stuff. Momma Ann came to visit me and after seeing how sad and heartbroken I was sitting in my pen, she took me home. I had a couch again to lay on and I hopped right up there and barely moved for several days!! I am starting to get happy again now that I'm back in a home with people that love me. I went to the vet and he found out that my past owners didn't take very good care of me and I ended up with those things he called Heartworms. But they put me on some medicine that will help me to get rid of them. They also found out that I'm kind of chubby because my Thyroid wasn't working right, so Momma got me started on medicine for that too. I'm starting to have more energy now! All of our dogs are Spay/Neutered, up to date on vaccines, Heartworm tested and current on Flea/Heartworm preventative before leaving. We are asking for a $150 adoption donation to help with the expenses of the dogs in our care and the expenses of the animals we help in our community.
