About Ray

Meet Ray! This sweet senior boy is a black and white Poodle mix who is estimated to be around 10 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Ray was originally found abandoned as a stray on the highway and later taken to a neighboring shelter. He came to us from there. Ray gets along with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. He has very limited eyesight and a heart murmur but neither condition sets him back at all and he doesn't need any medication at this stage. He has no trouble mapping out any new surroundings and gets around well. Ray would not do well with small children due his eyesight. He has only been in rescue a short time but is doing great with his housetraining when kept on a regular schedule and taken out on a leash. If left alone in the house he will use puppy pads if he is kept in a confined area. Ray is a very sweet dog and likes to sit with his head in his foster mom's lap. He has learned how to use the steps to get up and down from the sofa. He doesn't sleep with her in the bed at night but he does sleep in a bed beside her. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms and started on monthly preventatives. All this wonderful boy needs is a lap to call his own!
