About Bradley

Bradley needs a new home.�%A0He is a 3 year old neutered male pit bull. He weighs 60 lbs. Short and strong and very handsome! He is healthy and up to date on all his shots. We have successfully house trained him, crate trained him, muzzle trained him, and leash trained him. He loves toys and loves tug of war. This is his biggest motivation. He will work/train for toys and he does want to please you. He also loves a spring pole. He walks well on leash unless he is around other dogs. The shelter said he got along with some female dogs but has not been tested with other male dogs. He just went to the vet and he was very well behaved and friendly at the vet. We have also kenneled him and he was very well behaved with the staff. We rescued him from a shelter in California but now we are being asked to re-home him by our landlord because he has shown signs of aggression (growling at those who come into our home). He is friendly with some people and not with others. He develops a close bond and becomes very protective of his owner. We worked with a trainer who said his aggression seemed to be connected to him being possessive of us. Bradley spent a year in the shelter and so he still has a lot to learn. He is very sweet, loving, and affectionate with us and aims to please, but is still unsure about others who come into the house. He does better when meeting new people outside the home. Bradley needs a new owner who is willing to take the time to slowly introduce him to strangers. He needs an experienced dog owner with dog training experience and experience with the breed, someone who is a strong leader. He needs a very secure fully fenced yard or kennel living situation. No other dogs or cats and no kids. He is destructive if left alone loose in the house, thus the crate training. We want the best for Bradley. We want him to have a great life with a loving owner. He will only go to a loving, patient owner who will be a strong and caring leader.
