About Flower-PENDING!

Cairn / Yorkie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Whenever a sweet Terrier or Terrier mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that pups of these breed mixes are very loving and intelligent. They also fit well into a dog-loving family...and make great companions as well as the ultimate lap dogs. Sometimes rescue dogs are initially a bit shy....but put them in a home with a loving family and frequent socialization and they will shine. Flower is just about 2.5 years old (such a great age - young enough to be fun, active and adventurous while being a blank slate for training) and weighs 7 lbs (a great size to be very portable..she can go anywhere a tiny dog is welcome). Flower will gently warm your lap and express her love with her loyalty and sweetness. Flower's New Mexico rescuer sent the following information about sweet Flower: I was the lucky one that fostered Flower before her journey to Colorado. Let me start off by saying she is a doll! She is such a wonderful cuddle bug! I have 3 other very friendly, like-sized dogs as well as a 15 year old daughter and she did fine with everyone. She didn't choose to play initially because she was a bit overwhelmed from the changes in her life and looked to her humans for security... either curled up on our laps or cuddling on our bed. Flower is super, super sweet! She slept with us and had no issues at all. ..She cuddled close like a log all night!. I will cry like a baby when I drop her off for transport to Colorado but know that she will be in good hands with Farfel's! Flower has inherited the intelligence and fun-loving spirit of the Terrier breeds. If she is trained with positive reinforcement, given tons of love, socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs...she will grow into a self-confident pup who will be a wonderful companion. Flower has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a desire to please. We'd like to place Flower in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who works part-time or from home and loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Flower will shine for a family who is motivated to take her to group obedience classes to bring out all the wonderful qualities and loyalty that live inside this incredibly cute girl. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Flower will love the trails of Colorado (a back or front pack is perfect for a tiny dog to see the view from above) as well as taking long walks along neighborhood paths. She's also the perfect size for window-shopping on Pearl Street to fine-tune her urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. With feelings of security within the family, Flower will learn the skills of being alone and knowing her family will always return . Flower has a beautiful non-shedding (or possibly lightly-shedding) coat. With a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for lifelong hair care and longevity), she will develop the cottony-soft hair of a healthy, well-cared for coat. We've requested that Flower be spayed prior to her transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of New Mexico. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Flower's spay and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Flower will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 10/27/18. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, fun-loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Flower, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
