About Bentley

Hi my name is Bentley. I'm a 1-1.5yr old yellow lab and as you can see, I'm insanely cute!! I am a big boy weighing in around 90lbs and I'm being fostered with other dogs and cats, and get along with them. I can be a little stubborn, and at 90lbs, I have to be convinced whatever we are doing is actually a good idea. Food and affection are my motivators, so my new family will need to continue positive reinforcement training with me. The rescue I'm with is requiring it. In my past life, I was an outdoor dog and have an embedded collar scar to prove it. I've caught on quickly to indoor living but still prefer hard cool floors to sleep on and don't like carpets, beds, or a crate. I also have a genetic condition called Persistent Pupillary Membranes. The vet says it will not progress any further, but I do have slight loss of vision. It doesn't bother me one bit, but I am not that great at catching tennis balls! Right now I'm being treated for Heartworm. The rescue takes care of paying for the treatment. As I recover, my foster Mom will be reviewing applications for me. My new home will need to be active, have kids over 12 or no kids, a fenced in yard, and prior dog experience. I know it's asking a lot, but I'm worth it! The adoption fee of $400.00 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
