SAY HELLO TO CHICA! Chica is beautiful oh so happy 5 year old Chihuahua girl. Weighing in at 8 pounds, this bright and bouncy red coated girl is just so much fun here at the rescue. Chica came to our rescue through no fault of her own. Her family surrendered her stating that they were moving and didn't have time for her anymore. She is a super wonderful girl and will be the sparkle in your life! Chica loves everyone that she meets. This bouncy girl is the first to greet all who come for a visit. She gets on well with her foster mates. however she can be a bit of a bossy girl! When meeting her, Chica is quite the little talker .. not a barker .. but yes, can talk up a storm! She just can't say enough to you. She is a very happy girl, but not when it comes to her toys ... they are all hers! This pint sized chubby cherub is just so funny to watch as she stands down to no other dog! She's possessive of her human and a very brave girl who thinks she can protect you from all harm. Chica is super playful and will never turn down a good belly rub! She will just make you smile. Her happiness and joy towards you will be palpable .. she is really just such a special special girl. Chica is both house and leash trained and rides excellent in the car. She is very respectful of all she meets at the park. She takes no issues when crated. She understands basic commands and is very treat motivated. She has no medical concerns, however she may have had a head injury sometime in her life. She has an adorable slight head tilt and her paw turns in a bit, however there are no negative effects as she is always happy and bubbly. Chica would thrive as the only dog in your home or with a family that has another passive friendly dog similar in size and age. She would do well with a family of adults or adults with children who have experience, respect and an understanding of petite dogs like Chica - she is just 8 pounds and also who also will understand to not pull toys from her - likely children over the age of 10. Chica is a low maintenance, shorter coated breed that will require regular weekly brushing as well as baths as needed. Regular nail trims and ear cleaning could be done very inexpensively with a qualified reputable groomer. Chica's adoption fee includes her Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, her spay, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Chica will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that she has been eating.
