He gets along with most dogs, but he tends to be a little on the dominant side, so if you already have a dominant dog at your house, be aware. He has had some issues with his coat, but it is filling back in nicely with a change of diet. His former owner believed it to be a food allergy to chicken, perhaps. Perhaps a high quality venison, duck, or salmon would be better for him. He has a lot of energy but he does settle down. He is a bit skittish in new situations and will need some time in a new home to decompress. He can be a bit sassy if he doesn't like something, so a home with small children would probably not be recommended. Older, respectful children who know the proper way to interact with dogs would be fine. He also tends to be a bit vocal when he wants your attention - so be mindful of that if you live in an apartment with thin walls. Up until coming into rescue his socialization was limited, and he had no prior house training. He does wear a belly band most of the time at his foster home, so if you are expecting a perfectly potty trained dog, Dreamer is probably not the one for you.
