Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet. Roxy maybe Carin terrier mix, spayed, 14.2 lbs black, 3 years old. This little lady was clearly loved at some stage with a home but then ended up in a kill shelter extremely sick ready to lose her oh so sweet life. Roxy was from a extremely high kill shelter & she unfortunately was on a list where she needed out in CA as she was going to lose her sweet little life. Roxy was so severely sick with an upper respiratory infection when we got her out of the shelter & was not doing well in the shelter environment at all so we rescued her as we were not leaving her there especially being so ill & got her to our vets in CA & then bought her back to WA. Roxy was so unwell with the dreaded upper respiratory infection & spent several days at our vets & then went into her loving foster home where they brought her back to health. Roxy is a spayed female possibly Carin terrier mix we believe but what she is mixed with we do not know for sure. She weighs roughly just over 14.2 lbs, is up to date on her shots, heart worm negative, chipped, loves all other dogs, great with people, we have not had her around children but she does really well around teenagers & we have not had her around cats before. Roxy's foster family said she is very affectionate & sweet & very calm loves to be with you & the most incredible dog you will ever meet. Good with dogs good on a leash good in the car & is a pure joy & so easy. Roxy has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with. We do not know for sure what breed Roxy is & it's always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Roxy's friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Roxy & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it's a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Roxy that meet all the requirements for this adorable little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Roxy has an adoption fee of $685 & is ready for her committed loving forever home. **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT
