Lots of Boxer kisses to a very special secret sponsor who will pay the adoption fee for Blondie. Please see Blondie's video here too, link under her pic! Hi, I'm Blondie and I've been living in High Springs. I'm 2 years old but my dad says I act a lot like a puppy. I'm learning about everything - including how cool it is to live in a house! I know my toys are kept in a basket so I leave shoes, clothes and things that smell like people alone. I still need to be reminded that pillows and trash cans are not toys - but I'm learning. I like a home with a routine and would love to find a forever home with a couple or single person that likes to take walks. I stay in my crate at night and will wait all day in a crate for you to come home! It would be amazing to find someone that stays home during the day to work or play! People that are confident to be around me are easy to get along with, but if someone is scared I get scared too. Since I act like a puppy, I love little kids who are small enough to play with. However, dad says I don't play with them right and won't let me hang out with them. I'm going to show him though. I watch the kids across the street through the window and I'm nicer to them every time we go for a walk. Oh, if you have a fenced yard I'd love living with you. I don't eat much BUT if you need help keeping squirrels out of the yard I need to be at the top of your list and will earn everything you feed me. Foster Dad here: Blondie is a very likable dog that needs some patience. She responds well to a firm voice tone and is learning 'no'. She has not had any accidents in her crate or the home in weeks. As she gains trust she is wonderful about wanting to please and will look to you on how to respond in unfamiliar situations. She is very reluctant to get in a car but once in, she rides well and enjoys the adventures and coming home. Blondie loves toys - especially balls. She stays off furniture. She still gets super excited at meal time and when new people arrive; however, she is able to relax and is learning all the time. She is comfortable with some active play and then taking a nap nearby while I work at the computer. We are still working on her waiting to play if I try and read a book. Blondie has learned to leave people alone while we are at the table and to stay quiet later on Saturday and Sunday mornings until I come to let her out of the crate. With time, she will become an exceptional companion. Each week we do more and more together and enjoy the time. She is a dog that wants to be included and be near the people in her life, so she would do best being the only dog in the home.
