About Cali

Meet Cali the 2.5-year old, 42-pound outdoor adventurer! This obedient hiker knows sit, stay, come, and is a champion on the leash. She loves to play and herd-folk, especially when on the trail, always making sure the family and friends are close. She is also great with adults, kids, and other dogs. She's never been exposed to cats, so the verdict is still out on feline companions. But she is a playful dog, she doesn't fetch yet, but she can run outside forever and then rest her head under the stars. A true outdoor dog, who would do well in a rural environment, but could handle an urban one provided you and yours give her the space to run, jump, and tumble. Because she is an outdoor adventurer she loves car rides and be in the car for 3+ hours. She can handle a long trip and is always ready for a new adventure. Because Cali is a young dog still and has some of those cattle dog traits, she has a few behavior patterns that need correcting or attention. Simply, said she is a food snatcher, watch her closely as she is a lovable sneak who will grab a sandwich or the chicken if you aren't looking. It's an extension of her playful and joyful character but might want to be corrected if you don't like sharing your lunch. Also given Calis energy level and preferred activities, she requires attention. She has to be mentally stimulated or she might start getting into various things and begin chewing. If she gets her play time, it's not an issue, but still, something that might require correcting. But what makes Cali a special pup is her personality! She has boundless enthusiasm which is only matched by her limitless ability to love. This indomitable hiking pup will be your constant companion on the trails and at home. Whether it is star-gazing or cuddle time on the couch, Cali will be your trusted and loyal companion. Unfortunately, Cali's owner has to give her up as he is traveling more and more for work. As a result, he is boarding her more frequently and it's unfair to her, especially given her love for outdoor excursions. This sweet, loyal, and active dog is a one of a kind and will warm your heart for years to come. Cali is spayed�%A0microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. She is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
