About Cody & Penny-PENDING!

Cavalier / Papillon
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

The story of Penny & Cody is becoming all too common in today's world. They were relinquished from a hoarding situation by a guardian who wanted better for these sweet babies. She saw them as being special..their excellent temperaments and lap dog sweetness gave them every opportunity for a great life. With the help of very compassionate rescuers, Penny & Cody were removed from their hoarder's property, vetted, temperament tested and placed in a foster home. Farfel's was very happy to speak up for this bonded twosome and is on a search for a family with love in their hearts for two very sweet and loving dogs. Cody is a beautiful (These photos don't come close to doing either of these these amazing guys justice) Cavalier King Charles/Papillon mix weighing 12 lbs and just about 2 years old. Penny is the same breed mix weighing 11 lbs and also approximately 2 years old. These wonderful companions are very friendly (and silly and engaging)..they are very devoted each other but are very willing to share their sweetness with their humans. They fall in love easily and once comfortable give 100% to those that are kind to them. Our New Mexico rescuer is very compassionate and works tirelessly to save the lives of dogs that pass their temperament testing with flying colors. She became an advocate for Cody and Penny's rescue and made the arrangements for their ultimate transport to Colorado and a forever home where they would be truly nurtured and respected. Goodbyes and good wishes were said..and Cody & Penny were on their way to be vetted and then on to a foster home to receive lots of belly rubs and training on house skills and on-leash walking. These gorgeous Cavalier/Papillon mixes started their socialization immediately when they were introduced to their foster family of kids, a smaller dog and two dog-crazy parents.. and they did great! The fact that was immediately obvious is that Cody & Penny are truly a bonded pair! Their relationship is very soothing to them when they're together. Their foster provided the following information...Both these dogs are sweet and very friendly. Penny tends to follow Cody and take her cues from his reactions (she's the more submissive of the two). Once comfortable, Cody is instantly an absolute cuddle-bug! He loves to play and have so much fun..and then climbs into a welcoming lap for belly rubs and a snooze. Penny may hang back momentarily, and then following Cody's cue, up she goes as well for a hug and kind words. Farfel's Rescue made the immediate decision that as a bonded pair, we need to honor the power of Cody and Penny's relationship. We're searching for a very loving and gentle family...it seems that retirees or a dog-crazy younger family that works from home or just part-time would be perfect for these two. If given the time and opportunity, Cody & Penny will be a devoted duo that will be a gift to their family. Cody and Penny will be overjoyed with long walks with their favorite people. A beautiful Colorado trail or neighborhood path will speak to their love of the outdoors. It will also provide the exercise and mental stimulation that every dog requires for long-term happiness. Since Cody and Penny only weigh 12 and 11 lbs, they're so portable that you can scoop them up into the car for a fun adventure or they'd fit under a plane seat for a visit to a dog-loving friend or relative. Once Cody and Penny find their forever family, they will have their dreams come true. We feel that there was most likely a point in their lives when love was plentiful and belly rubs were the order of the day ....we want that life for these beautiful dogs again. We feel that any family who is searching for lap dogs that will return their love (once comfortable) a million times over will fall in love with our awesome twosome. Cody and Penny are truly a case of two being easier than one. They're always ready to cuddle with their people..but when life calls for their humans...Cody and Penny are very capable of keeping each other busy and happy. These gorgeous Cavapaps appear to be very lightly shedding pups. They will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition..a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for longevity and to keep their coats cottony-soft, healthy and matt-free. Cody and Penny will be arriving on transport in Denver in late October or early November (we'll update exact date as soon as it's finalized).
