About Mary Lou

My name is Mary Lou. I am a 3-year-old, 11-lb, MinPin-Chihuahua mix. I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations, spayed, 95% housetrained, crate trained and ready for my forever home! I am a super sweet young lady, but I need to get to really know you before I trust you. Someone must have been mean to me because I'm pretty timid and scared in new situations and with new people. But once you gain my trust, I will be your most loyal companion! I love snuggles. I even make you give me kisses once I really love you. I'm pretty laid back and low energy for a younger dog. But I do like to play a few minutes a day and go on walks on my leash. I also love my foster's great big fenced-in yard. I'll take off if I see a squirrel or other critter. So I will need a home with a fenced-in back yard. I'm really good on my leash but you have to be careful... if I see another dog that I don't know, I might go berserk! I also don't like to be petted by people I don't know when I'm on my leash or being held by my person. I'm not mean��%BD'��%BD| I just don't know that your friends aren't going to hurt me so I have to show them how big I am! It's best to let me initiate contact and sniff new people. (My foster mom thinks a 'do not pet' collar would be a good idea for me.) I'm good with other smaller dogs. I had a playmate at one of my foster homes but he played pretty 'ruff' and hurt my back! I will be good in a home with another smaller dog who isn't too rambunctious or a home with no dog and kids over the age of 10. Change is hard for me, but once I get used to the routine of the house, I follow along��%BD'��%BD| I even put myself in my crate sometimes when I know it's time for my foster family to leave.
