About River

River, an approx 1 y/o pit mix, is as sweet as can be, and gorgeous - but very strong (and strong willed). He needs someone who can work with him consistently to help him be the best dog he can be. He already knows sit and lay down. He is still all puppy - high energy; likes to chew, mouth on your hands/arm when he's bored and you're busy, climb, shred paper and Kleenex, and counter surf. He will play fetch until he can't move anymore, and then leap in your lap to sleep despite being over 60lb. He loves with exuberance. Is fine with other dogs and cats (although my male greyhound doesn't like him). Utd on shots and neutered. House trained. Crates well provided there's nothing shredable in it. Fenced yard a must, preferably 6 ft. He needs room to run and play but has no recall outside a fence. It's just a big game of Chase. I brought River up from Sikeston several weeks ago to hopefully give him a better chance at adoption. His alternative was a kill shelter. But I've learned quickly I'm not home enough to give him the attention and training he needs. He would benefit from obedience training and someone who understands how to appropriately teach him his place in the pack. Serious inquiries only. Adoption fee of $150.
