About Dutch

Dutch is a shy 5 month old Lab/ Chihuahua mix looking for a patient and loving forever home. He weighs about 20 pounds and still has some growing to do. Dutch is a very timid boy that will need a family that will help him learn to relax and be a dog. Dutch and two of his siblings came to us from the Humane Society, where he was rescued from a hoarding situation. He will need another dog companion in the home that will help him learn how to be a dog, and help him adjust. Dutch would do well in a home with another dog his size or bigger. He is very shy with new people and can be vocal upon first meeting but he means no harm. Dutch does well with men and women. He may do well around older gentle kids that understand he will need time to be comfortable around them, but would probably do best in a one or two person home. Dutch will need to meet any other dogs in the home and all the humans living in the home too. He would do best in a home with one other dog as he bonds quickly to other dogs and is then protective of his best friend. We have learned that Dutch loves to run in a yard with toys, in his forever home he will need a securely fenced backyard. He will need lots of sturdy toys and puppy training as he LOVES to chew! He may take some time to adjust and learn how to be a dog but with a little TLC, he will become a love bug. Dutch is still a puppy and will require training in the home. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption comes with 30 days of free pet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $220. To meet him come to our shelter location located at 1102 W Hatcher Rd open Tuesday to Sunday 11am-6pm. Call on weekends for location as many of our dogs attend off site adoption events.
