About Chestnut

Introducing this cutey Chestnut! He is a Chihuahua mix who is about 4 years old. He weighs approximately 10 pounds, is heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots, and scheduled to be neutered. This sweet little man was surrendered to the Santa Rosa shelter along with two other dogs that are currently available for adoption. His foster mom is happy to report that he is potty trained! She has scheduled potty breaks for her own dogs but he will go to the door to let you know when he is ready to go out between those breaks! He gets along well with other dogs his size as well as the two big old softy Labradors in the foster home so he would be OK with bigger dogs that are low energy and mellow. Chestnut has not been tested with children or cats. He is just learning to play with toys as his personality starts to come out. He loves to snuggle but is still getting used to his foster mom's kisses! If you like to sleep in at the weekend, Chestnut is your guy. Talk about sleepy head! He's happy to stay in dreamland until at least 9am if you let him! During his neuter he will also have a dental to tend to some teeth that have not been taken care of previously. This procedure along with his neuter is covered under his adoption fee if done at our vet. Chestnut would do best in a home with no small children due to his size.
