We adopted Shadow almost two years ago, she is approximately three years old, and we nursed her back to full health after finding out she had heart-worm immediately after we adopted her (in July 2017). She is healthy (up to date on all shots, with a clean bill of health from the Rochester MHS), very smart, loyal, loves car rides, doesn't mind the sounds of thunder, and absolutely loves to run. At our home she is loved without a doubt, which makes rehoming her so unbelievable difficult. Shadow has severe isolation/separation anxiety. When we are home she is at peace and when we are gone (even for one minute) she is terrified. She needs constant uninterrupted adult company (she has displayed uncertainty with children and prefers a low key lifestyle). We simply can no longer provide that to her 24/7, and absolutely will not consider surrendering her to a shelter or home where we feel she will be put down. We have had a long journey with this beautiful soul and need the best situation for her.
