About Wiley-ADOPTION PENDING

The very first thing that Wiley the Poodle/Schnauzer mix (Schnoodle) wants to make clear is that he's a love. In this photo, you're not aware of the striking golden streaks that run through his soft as cotton, non-shedding coat - with grooming, care and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement and premium food are recommended for longevity and coat care), Wiley's hair will not only be silky soft..but shining with good health. So much is new to Wiley...he sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then before you know it, Wiley is cuddling close on the bed as he sleeps through the night next to his favorite family members. Wiley is so happy there because his human relationships are so important to him. We have to remember that Wiley came from a very tough and challenging shelter. As a result of unkind handling and harsh conditions, Wiley may be initially a bit shy. Once he's assured that all is well, he becomes the most loving guy ever! Wiley is a calm and very sweet dog that wants nothing more than kindness and love...he returns these loving sentiments to his family a thousand times over. This 7 year old (such a perfect age..old enough to be past puppyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many active and healthy years ahead), 24 lb guy (perfect size for long hikes and then cuddling together at day's end) truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. In this spirit of great behavior, Wiley is a very kind and loving people dog. He's gentle and a very loving and devoted best friend. We envision Wiley with active retirees or a family with very gentle older kids who want a very handsome and loving dog as a family member and best friend. Wiley would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people. Being a Schnoodle, Wiley loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation (he's super-smart!). Wiley would be a natural in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. He would love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please, that he would excel. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of excellent force-free trainers in your area. Wiley would be overjoyed to walk along gorgeous Colorado paths and trails..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. He also likes the company of other dogs and would have so much fun on hikes or playing in the park or back yard. Wiley's basic nature is to be so positive and extremely joyful and often silly.. he's therefore so much fun to be with to enjoy together the outdoor wonders of life in Colorado. We've requested that Wiley be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to far too few vets in this industrial area of Texas. If it doesn't, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Wiley's neuter and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Wiley will be arriving on transport on Friday 10/19/18.
