About Luna

Luna came to us from a high kill shelter in South Texas where she was found heartworm positive and pregnant. Luna has her adorable puppies and was a terrific mom. Luna was spayed and on her way to NJ. Luna has begun her heartworm treatment and will be receiving a course of 3 injections on 3 days. We are looking for an adopter within a 1/2 hour drive to Nutley NJ who would welcome Luna into their home. Luna will have restrictions to not run or get her heart rate elevated for the next 4-5 months. She will not be allowed to run off leash, go to dog parks or play rough. We would prefer a home that is low energy while she recouperates and no other dogs to rile her up. We have done this treatment before many times with 100% success rate that she will be negative and live a long and happy life. All treatments will be covered by the rescue as well as rides to and from the vet. The adopter would have to agree to our terms and would not continue treatment with their vet until fully finished with treatment from our rescue vet.
