He is currently 94 lbs and still young. History- He was surrendered in April 2018. He had a very bad painful case of HOD and his family was having financial problems and could no longer afford the vetting he needed. He was very emaciated due to having parvo previously and with the pain from the HOD he was struggling to eat. They chose to give him the best chance possibly with rescue. We agreed to bring him in and immediately got him into our vet and x-rays done. He was in so much pain and so scared of the vet that he was a little nutty and had to be sedated. He has been to the vet a lot in the time he has been with us and so is doing much better with them and realizes they aren't trying to murder him. He is finally pain free (just had to grow out of it- though he had been on 2 pain medications for months) and he has gained weight so looks like a normal happy healthy dog. He recently went for a follow up and the vet cleared him to start finding a home. Temperament- Very sweet, playful, and happy. He is a little shy initially of strangers who reach out to grab him right away but he gets past it pretty quickly. Energy Level- Typical high energy puppy. He is very playful and gets the zoomies all over the yard playing with all his friends. He loves small dogs however they do not feel the same about him, but he tries. Dogs/Cats- He has been in rescue for several months with other dogs and cats and he is perfect. He loves to play though he can sometimes be a little much for other dogs due to his size and energy. House trained- He is crate trained but does better outside the crate with just a baby gate. I think he will be fine loose in a house though with a dog door. This sweet, handsome boy would make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a sweet, loving, energetic kid to join their family. He loves attention and gets so happy when you talk baby talk to him. You have to meet him to truly appreciate how wonderful he is. He loves playing chase with the other dogs and playing with soft stuffed toys. Adoption fee $400 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies vacc, collar and tags, training information, and all the support you need.
