About Eddie

Dachshund
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Eddie is a red dapple from a backyard breeding situation in Kentucky. The dachshunds that came from this place were poorly bred or mixed but their pups were sold as purebred. Eddie's nose isn't pointed or long enough to be a good example of a Dachshund, but he can't help it. His front legs look more like that of a basset hound. He is a little shy when he first meets people especially men but he will come around. He is still learning how to be a pet. He now likes to receive scratches and cuddling. He is housebroken but will still have accidents if not taken out regularly. He is not yet good on a leash but learning. He is a work in progress. It would be best for him to be in a forever home to learn the rest of what he needs so he can also learn to trust other people besides me. He is also starting to learn how to play with my dog who is a male Heinz-57 around 20 lbs. He does not do well with cats. He wants to eat mine. He is approximately 8 years old, has been neutered, had a dental and several teeth extracted. He is UTD on everything and is on Interceptor Plus for HW prevention. Eddie is fostered in Clinton, TN (near Knoxville). Please go to our website to fill out an adoption application for Eddie. www.sophiasgracefoundation.org
