About Delphine

Delphine is a very well loved dog, whose human Mom had an accident and due to this event, she is physically unable to meet Delphine's active lifestyle need. She is a mix of herding dogs, like a Norwegian Buhund, Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepard, or a Corgi. She may have some spitz mix as well, like Siberian Husky. She is blue eyed and brown eyed, or heterochromia. She weighs under 40 pounds, and is current on all lab testing, fecal testing, clean teeth, blood work, and all vaccinations as of October 2018. Delphine would be happiest with a job or a role to play in a home. She loves to exercise, run, walk, or even run next to a bike. If you have an active lifestyle, and can give her a job to perform, she will do it! Delphine will be happiest with you if she is expected to perform a task. She would be an excellent service dog, and is super smart. Her herding skills need to be used, so her seeking skills will be satisfied. This would ensure she is happy, and is then able to love you back. She can track scent, range back to you or home quickly, with just one visit. She loves to run, so she will be safer in a fenced yard. However, that should not deter her placement. She will want to sleep with you, lounge on the couch, however, these are not good options for her training. Her superior smartness and herding dog breeding will be easily controlled with appropriate manner expectations. As she has been with us for 8 weeks, we are training her on walking on the leash, and various simple commands. She is great in her kennel, and will only bark when she is anxious or upset. She is friendly with known dogs, but can be very unsure of other dogs on the walk. With a calm and happy home, she will be better suited as a single dog in your home. She loves cats, but if they run, she needs to be reminded not to chase cats. This is a polite manner detail that needs attention and reminder. She is a super sweet dog, that would love a family to love. She does want to meet you, and of course, find a new energetic way to show her love. Her previous owner is broken hearted she cannot keep her, due to health reasons. If you want a healthy and fun dog to share your life, please consider meeting Delphine! Delphine will not be placed without a donation to MUSHR in Minneapolis. As well, she is always guaranteed a home with Mark and Cheryl Hanson in Prior Lake, MN. She will have a microchip that returns her to us, or MUSHR in any event. If you need a sitter for Delphine, we would be happy to have her visit!
