About Britney-PENDING!

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog. They're new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Kansas rescuer in saving Britney...she could see that her temperament was so kind and sweet that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. The shelter recognized Britney for all her great qualities and wrote the following on her shelter card... Britney is a very cute (she will be gorgeous once her hair grows in!) 2.5 year old Shih Tzu..appears to be purebred. She's such a great age...old enough to be past puppyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many healthy, active years left. At a tiny 10 lbs, Britney is also a perfect size to come along everywhere a smaller, very sweet dog is welcome. Britney is a blank slate pup that's open to anything. Once comfortable, she loves to play and be silly.. but will also love to just cuddle and get some serious hugs and belly rubs. She is just starting to learn about a leash and beginning to work on her basic commands like sit and lie down. Did we mention Britney is great with her foster parents... once she became acclimated (took several days), she turned into the sweetest and most fun/loving girl around! She would make a great addition to a family who is home a lot or loves taking a small, very endearing pup along. It turns out that Britney, at 18 months old and 10 lbs. (the perfect size to be a full-time companion) loves the trails. She walks along with her foster mom and then settles down into a backpack where Britney is ecstatic to enjoy the trails from above.. and then after a fun day outdoors, Britney crashes on the couch ...or better yet on her favorite person's lap. Britney is open and curious about everything around her and SO smart! She's incredibly entertaining and enjoys her relationships with those that are kind to her. If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans, Britney will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. FOSTER SUMMARY Britney is an adorable Shih Tzu pup who with grooming, great care and excellent nutrition will have a silky, shining non-shedding coat! This is a gift to those that suffer from allergy concerns. Britney's sweet demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be analytical..and then overjoyed once comfortable in a new situation. If Britney is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted dog who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for our sweet girl. We also feel it's very important that Britney is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. We think that Britney would be a great match for retirees...she's a perfect size to be a lap dog and full-time best friend. We don't feel that Britney is a good match for families that work full-time outside of the home...she's too sensitive to spend long hours alone. We've requested that Britney be spayed prior to her arrival in Colorado. Since Kansas shelters have very limited access to vets and funding...this isn't always possible. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Britney's spay and microchip after her arrival on transport if our Denver vet is used. Britney will be arriving on transport in Denver on Tuesday 10/16/18. We make a commitment to every dog that we rescue that they'll never be in a facility again. Toward this end, every dog that joins Farfel's Rescue either gets adopted prior to their arrival in Colorado by pre approved families (who have submitted applications) or has a foster home waiting for them.
