About Snoopy

Basset Hound / Beagle
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Snoopy was found in the middle of a county road with no collar, and completely covered with fleas. I knocked on a few doors but no one in the area claimed her. I then took her to the Humane Society where they confirmed that she is not chipped and needed immediate attention. Snoopy spent the day at the vet being evaluated, bathed and medicated for fleas and shots brought up to date. We also bought her a collar, which she seemed to particularly enjoy. She is skinny, exhausted and covered in sores from the enormous number of fleas she has been traveling with for who knows how long. The pads of her feet are very sore and she got a little snippy with the vet assistant when they trimmed her nails. Other than that, the only time she has shown any aggression is towards our curious male cat, Mac, and once when we tried to get her off of the sofa while she was sleeping. She is, for the most part, a super sweet girl and very cute. The vet says that she has had a few litters and could be susceptible to cancer just statistically and to expect that tapeworms could show up in the Spring. Upon her evaluation, all panels and stool samples came back negative, as did her heartworm test. Right now, she needs to get a lot of love, food and rest to recover. She is the size of a large Beagle but has the eyes, short legs and turned out feet of a Bassett. We really have NO IDEA what she is except she is a doll of a girl that needs a second chance.
