Hello darling, the name's Merribelle and it's a pleasure to meet you. I just recently moved here from Patrick County and I'd love a new pal to show me around and maybe let me crash with them�'�|forever! My family had it rough before we came here; we were living in the sticks and wound up in the slammer malnourished and replete with fleas, ticks, and worms. Just thinking about it has me on the edge of swooning. In spite of all I've been through, I remain hopeful and eager to find my very own family. It took some time for me to adjust to this inside life business, but now I've found that head pats, belly rubs, and that warm spot humans leave on the couch when I steal their seat are pretty much the definition of the finer things in life. When I first came to my foster home, I was afraid of other dogs and well, afraid of just about everything. Thanks to the TLC I got from my foster family, I'm a brave girl now and I love to play with dogs and go outside. Even human kiddos don't scare me! They're great playmates and sometimes they have even more energy than I do! I might be young, but I'm making stellar progress on training. I'm crate-trained already and I'm working on earning badges in house training and leash training. I'm so close to earning my leash badge, I can smell it! Hey, I have an idea. Maybe you could take me home and help me? I'll make you an honorary member of the Hound Scouts! I'm a pretty cheap date; tennis balls and sticks are pretty much all it takes to satisfy me. But hey, if you want to buy me fancy toys and cookies, I'm not arguing. If you're looking for that missing puzzle piece to complete your family, you're looking for me, Miss Merribelle! Come down to the Waynesboro Petsmart between 10 AM and 2 PM on Saturdays and I'll show you how to fill out my adoption contract. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
