About Ludo

Adoption Fee: $200
American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Ludo is the sweetest guy! He is very devoted to his humans as well. We pulled him from a boarding kennel where his previous owner had left him for FIVE YEARS, yes Five. He really is amazing considering his previous life. He loves every adult he meets and he absolutely loved 'his kids'. But he doesn't love their friends, sadly. Our home is full of kids in and out 7 days a week and it's something he can't handle. We believe he would do best with a single person or a couple without kids or 14+ where there are not a lot of kids in and out of the home. He is potty trained, walks fantastic on a leash, doesn't need to be crated when you aren't home. No chewing or accidents. The only thing he may do is get the zoomies on your bed and pull your blankets off!! We believe his is mostly deaf and the vet agrees but there is no test for dogs. He knows commands with hand signals-sit,stay,come,bed. He responds to stomping of the feet as well. He has never met a dog he doesn't love. Unless the dog is bigger than him, he tends to just be uninterested. Once in a while he would get aggressive with our other dog over food/toys/bones so we just kept that separate. He does get jealous over attention, not aggressive just pushy. Cats are okay, he just needs to sniff them and he will be on his way. Out of our 3 there is only one that didn't like him but she was scared of him. He needs to be on a leash while outside due to the deafness. Walks/hikes are awesome with Ludo because he doesn't hear other dogs/lawn mowers/ so he could care less on what's going on around him. Our 16 year old used to go on runs with him and she always said how perfect he was for her. He doesn't like water but he's the easiest dog to bathe. Getting him in the tub is the hardest part after that it's smooth sailing. Car rides? Absolutely! This is one of the hardest decisions we have had to make but it's for his safety and the best decision for him. He is also very attentive to your feelings, my dad has recently passed away and he would just lay with me and rest his head on me. He is an AMAZING guy who just needs a calmer home. If you feel like you can give him the life he deserves, love him like us and spoil him, feel free to contact me.
