About Calypso

Cue the trumpet fanfare, for I, the elusive and enthralling Calypso, am finally available for adoption! That's right mortals, your time has finally come to submit to my siren song; now take me home, lay me on a plush puppy bed, and stuff me full of treats. I mean heck, I deserve some special treatment after all I've been through. My Mom, Lyric, my sister, Allegra, and I were all found abandoned at a dump in a rural county in Virginia. Playing in garbage was great at first, but living in it was really hard on us, especially my Mom. She wants us all to go to loving homes so we can forget about our bleak days and move on to brighter things, like music careers and chasing squirrels. So the best thing about adopting me is definitely that you can save money on that best friend you've been renting out for all this time. See, I want to go everywhere with you! We can walk together, go on car rides, go for long hikes, and maybe you could even sneak me into a movie or a concert since I'm pocket-sized! I get so lonely when I'm left all by myself, so I'm hoping to find someone who will spend some quality time with me. I'm just a little guy, but I'm already leash trained and I'm making great progress on house training. Other dogs, big and small, are the best! So if you already have a dog, or if you'd like to adopt me along with my sister, Allegra, that would be swell. If you're looking for a new best friend (or maybe two if you adopt my sister) to shower you in kisses and adoration, you're looking for me, Calypso! If you are considering adopting a puppy, please understand that they are a lifetime commitment. We can only guess at their breed, so we can only guess at what their adult size will be. Puppies are not small for long; they take dedication, consistent training, and a lot of patience. You must be willing to house train them and provide obedience training. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
