About Smokey Gastonoff

Smokey Gastonoff is a handsome blue gray long hair male approx. 7yr. His adoption fee is $60. He has been vet checked and neutered. He can be on the dominate side but is good with nice nondominate cats, nice dogs, nice older kids. His mom went into assisted living and couldn't take her beloved pet with her. Thankfully she found a loving foster home for him. She made the effort. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! Smokey is very sweet, social and talkative. He is used to a calmer environment vs loud and rowdy. He loves being gently brushed and will reward you with head-butts. He takes a while to warm up to new people, but then he's shameless in demanding attention. He'll do best in a home where someone is around a lot, retired, or works from home, he doesn't care to be alone without his people. He started off in the foster sons bedroom but he didn't like being locked up and needed people so badly that he became the first foster kitty to be allowed to roam the whole house! He likes to play with interactive toys like feather on a stick, 'cat dancer' and shoe lace drag and he loves a nice tall cat tree to scratch and to lay on. He likes to drink out of the toilet, even with 3 water bowls down! So keep the lid shut :) He prefers cheerios and chickpeas to chicken (must be his vegetarian side!) He is nosy and loves to investigate what's behind the closed door meaning he likes to get into the cabinets. He is uniquely odor free�'�|even when in the litter box! He is super soft, a little sassy and very affectionate when he chooses to be�'�|(sounds like a female cat!) As with all of our rescued cats he is inside only and is lovin it. Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. A quality hard food along with a can of food a day is a must for cats to help manage their fluids. Dry foods that help maintain UTI health are Hills, Royal Canine and Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health. Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment!
