About Dexter Delicious

Adoption Fee: $75
Maine Coon / Ragdoll
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

DeeDee and Dexter are brother and sister. They do not need to be adopted together. They are 15months. DeeDee is a beautiful orange red and white short hair female and Dexter is a handsome chocolate black medium hair male. (they really are from the same mom S) Their adoption fee is $75ea. They have been vet checked and spayed or neutered. They are good with other nice cats and older kids. They may be fine with an older calm dog and the proper introduction with time. Fast rowdy dogs, like the ones in their foster home are wayyy to much. They were rescued as babies when the neighbors moved out and left their unfixed female cat behind to fend for itself. ABANDONING A HELPLESS ANIMAL IS AGAINST THE LAW AND CRUEL. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! As tiny 6wk old kittens they had a rough start. Taken from mom by the loving human that saved them, bad kitty colds, antibiotics. She obviously did an amazing job as they weren't supposed to survive. Happy and healthy, foster mom has excepted the fact they would be happier in a home with less animals. DeeDee will be cautious at first and will come around when she wants attention or to be pet. She is not a holdy holdy kitty, she is a princess, its all about her :) Dexter is more aloof. He has energy and is more in your face bold. He likes to be picked up and have his belly smothered in kisses. Then he is on the go. They are both lovable in their own way. They are not real lap cats right now, too much competition, but in a home with less animals they will bloom. You might find DeeDee napping in the closet. Dexter would expect to share your bed. They also love to chill in a tall cat tree in front of a window with the afternoon sun shining in on them. They don't like to be locked up away from people. They can be playful and active, chasing balls and interactive games likes feather on a stick. Also they are very helpful when its time to make the bed BUT watch your fingers! When they are in the mood they will run playfully through the house after each other. Obviously it would be awesome to keep these two together but we don't want to lose out on a good home because of it. BUT if you are looking for 2 new family members DeeDee and Dexter are a great pair. They do keep each other company when family is away, they are complete opposites so there is tons of personality to be had by keeping them together. During allergy season they may have a sneeze here or there but nothing to worry about. Most cat litters are super dusty. They have been using a dust free (respiratory relief) litter like Dr Espey's (chewy.com) They love hanging out in the outdoor Catio (a safe enclosed area outside typically hooked to a window) which they will miss as most people don't have one. They are free fed (always have a bowl of dry food out to nibble on throughout the day) of Blue Buffalo Wilderness and they get a half a can each, morning and night of Dr Elsey's clean protein grain free beef. Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. A quality hard food along with a can of food a day is a must for cats to help manage their fluids. Dry foods that help maintain UTI health are Hills, Royal Canine and Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health. Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, laser lite, inside home ADOPT DeeDee and/or Dexter FOR LIFE!
