About Rat-A-Tat

Hey pal, the name's Rat-A-Tat and you look like just the person I've been wanting to meet for, well, forever! I've been singing the hound dog blues in a rural kill shelter for quite some time now, but now that I'm in a foster home, I'm happy and hopeful that I'll find a loving family who can show me that there is a kinder side to life after all. My foster mom doesn't know much about me yet, but I like to think my mystery is the source of some of my charm. Well, that, and my handsome, salt and pepper face. Heck, I'm practically Sean Connery in a dog suit if you ask me. I'm pretty calm for a hound dog, so if you're looking for a low maintenance buddy for couch snoozles and binge eating, I am so there. There's probably nothing I love more than getting a good smooch on the head and scratch on the old keister. I'm making great progress on house training, leash training, and crate training. I'm also doing great playing with my doggo roommates, so if you've got another dog, it sounds like we are a match made in hound heaven. Wait, don't tell me, you are all ready to sign the dotted line and take me home, right? Look, I'll wear that stupid taco costume for Halloween and walk around the neighborhood with you if it means I can curl up on the couch with you after. Come down to the Waynesboro Petsmart between 10 AM and 2 PM so you can meet me and we can try on some Halloween costumes! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
