About Maria

Hi, My name is Maria. I am a 5yr old Black lab mix. I weigh about 50lbs and will not get any bigger. My story is one that'll pull at your heart strings. I was rescued from Hurricane Maria off the coast of Puerto Rico in 2017. A nice woman rescued me. When she found me, I was pregnant with puppies, and heart worm positive. This was all nearly 4 months after the hurricane had hit. After I went unclaimed, my puppies and I were flown to Colorado to be fostered in home and I have been here ever since. I am now spayed, and I have been treated for heartworms. I am now heartworm negative, and my puppies have found their fuurever homes. I am now looking for my fuurever home. I really love people, and I am the perfect mother pup for kids to be around. I will tolerate other, smaller, dogs as long as they respect my space. I would do best as the only pup in the home. My foster mom has been in and out of the state, and the family is expecting another baby. With 3 other pups in the home I am looking for a nice quiet home where I can live long with my people happily ever after. I know both English and Spanish commands. I am house trained and would make the perfect match for someone looking to add a quiet family member. I am spayed and up to date on all routine vaccinations. I am currently being fostered in a home.
