About Precious

This is Precious and she really does live up to her name. She is a blonde Pekingese who is 2 years old and weighs 21 pounds. She came to us after she was surrendered by her owner to a local church. Did you know that the Pekingese breed descended from the throne rooms of China? Precious certainly has a very regal demeanour and seems quite mature for her age. She has just started playing with toys but hasn't yet played with the foster's other dogs, though we think she would like to, given enough time and courage! Precious is a sweet and loving girl. She is quiet for her age but that maybe because she is a little overweight and she is still getting used to her new environment. Precious is housebroken. She has not been tested with children or cats and while she no longer has some of the trust issues she had when we first brought her in, we don't think she would do well with very small children. Precious likes to snuggle and prefers to sleep in bed with her person. She doesn't have to be with you all the time and can be a little independent, but she knows her name and will come to you when called. Precious walks well on leash and loves to be out. She has been a dream foster and has showed no negative tendencies at all. She doesn't even bark except for briefly when she is left alone, but she settles very quickly and it doesn't continue after you leave the house. She really is a special girl.
