About Skunky

Love this breed but not up for that classic Labrador energy? Despite being the largest (& most handsome) boy at the shelter, Mr. Skunky is incredibly shy & submissive due to heartbreaking first year of life. Skunky was kept in a small pen with his 2 brothers since being only a tiny puppy. You can see that he is now a big, beautiful man, yet still has that small, scared spirit. He was completely shut-down when he initially arrived to the shelter, but love & a very gentle touch was the magic cure. He walks wonderfully on a leash, does not potty in his kennel & does a perfect sit. Sadly, Skunky is HW+. However, he has been started on monthly 'slow kill' & we are confident he'll be cleared as he is so young & otherwise healthy. Skunky is a true ladies' man because while being stuck in his pen, he never saw a man. This causes him to hide when he sees a male, although he did very well with a couple of different male children. Ideally, a single female or all-female household would give Skunky the most confidence. He is truly a special boy who's waiting to blossom! Please email me to hear more about this sweet prince.
