About Luna

FOSTER LOCATION: Star, ID Adoption Fee: $175 Breed: Husky DOB: 4/4/2018 Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped Luna was transferred to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue from a rural Idaho shelter after being twice adopted and then returned due to behavior issues. A month in foster care with us Luna has proven herself to be a wonderful, sweet, intelligent and very typical Siberian Husky filled with stubbornness and quirks. Independent, a little shy and stubborn, Luna is all Husky but she is also sweet and funny and snuggly. Her most notable quirk is that if you reach out to pet her she will back away. In foster we've been working on this behavior with lots of treats and gentle hands. She loves company, but is a bit like a cat - it's usually on her terms. Luna is potty trained (mostly), kennel trained during the work day but at night she snuggles in bed with her foster family. She has learned very basic commands but will need lots of patient training and positive reinforcement. She is a very smart girl and is eager to learn. She is food motivated wish makes training easy. Luna has quickly learned her name and is very responsive to coming when called. Luna must have another energetic (med-large) dog in her future home. She has fiercely bonded with her foster brother and they play, wrestle, snuggle and entertain one another all day. She will react if a dog is being overly aggressive to her, but is easily corrected. She has been living with cats in her foster home and will be ok in a home with confident cats but no kittens or shy/scared cats as she is still quite enthusiastic about chasing the kitties in her foster home. Luna will require a 6 foot fence as she is an escape artist as most Huskys are! Luna will need lots of toys and contained room to run. She will need to be an indoor dog. A puppy class is a great idea for Luna - it will help her hone her skills, gain confidence around strangers and it is an excellent way to bond. Luna is a very unique and cute girl, but she will need a forever family that is experienced with her breed and can provide her the forever family she deserves. With lots of training and patience, Luna will be a wonderful companion but she may always be a bit shy.
