About Ginger

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $100 Age: 9 months (ish) Breed: Boxer/Lab mix Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped This sweet girl was found on highway 95 near Lapwai when her people were finally found they said they could not care for her so the finders contacted Fuzzy Pawz Rescue for help finding her a home. This girl is so sweet, happy and very social with people without being overly pushy. She's happy to be with you and engage in whatever you are doing. She enjoys long walks (and needs them to burn off energy) and playing in the yard with her people. She thinks she is a lap dog and likes to cuddle. She is currently living with a toddler and does okay but tends to be too rough; she is GREAT with the teens in the home. Ginger is good with other dogs her size or larger and enjoys a good game of chase through the yard. However she does have a fairly high prey drive and should not go to a home with cats, small dogs or other small furry creatures. This girl is strong and excitable; she is working on her leash skills but will still pull fairly hard especially when she first goes out or if she sees another dog she wants to play with. She also will jump up on people when she meets them in her exuberance to greet them; we are working on this also but she's not quite there yet. Ginger is very good at sitting and is learning to fetch and shake a paw. She is mostly house trained but in a new home will need to be let out regularly and watched for a few days until she learns the routine. She will need regular walks/runs a day to help her burn off some energy and to keep her fit an happy. Ginger loves to ride in the car and is a great passenger - she's the perfect size to take places with you - the foothills, the river, lake are all things she enjoys. She is currently 42 pounds and may fill out a bit more but will be under 50 pounds for sure. She has an easy to keep coat that will require just a quick brush a few times a year.
