Reason for being in rescue: owner surrender Foster location: Foster home in Monroe, NC Special Needs? None Weight: 14 lbs, but needs to lose a few pounds Height: 12 inches at shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, but a fence is highly preferred. What kind of home would be best for me? We are seeking a home with someone who understands Pomeranians and definitely, someone who is home more than they are away. Precious Requires a lot exercise and time to just sit in the sun. We would also prefer a home with a companion canine for Precious. What is my personality like? Precious is very cautious, but very loving. Once she knows you, she openly seeks attention. Precious LOVES to be outside, chasing birds and squirrels and just exploring and relaxing Precious craves attention and loves to be petted and loved. Precious does love to eat and her exercise has been limited, so we are working to help her lose a few pounds. Her coat is beautiful and full, but she is also very cute in a shorter coat for warmer weather. She is very fearful of being brushed, but with time and patience, she may learn to enjoy regular brushing. If Precious feels unsure about a situation, she will yelp loudly, which can surprise you at first. Precious and her daughter Polar's world has been turned upside down for the past couple of years. Owned by a young couple since they were puppies (Precious is Polar's mom), the couple had a child in January 2017 and then sadly separated. At the time of the separation in early 2017, Precious and Polar were left at the home with their dad, but did not receive proper care for months and were confined to just one room in the house. Once their mom realized the situation, she took them from the home, and then, found a new home for them....which sadly did not work out, so Polar and Precious were returned to their mom in January, 2018. Their mom knew that a loving Carolina Poodle Rescue volunteer fostered for CPR and as a last resort, asked if she could keep Polar and Precious while she thought through her situation. Polar and Precious settled into the CPR foster home. Foster mom is home most of the time and they have doggy doors and a fenced in back yard...which they LOVE. Then, in June (2018), their mom decided she wanted to again try to bring Polar and Precious back into her home. However, it only took a few months for this single mom with a toddler to realize she could not give them what they needed. Carolina Poodle Rescue is now focused on finding a new FOREVER home for Precious and her daughter Polar - two beautiful Pomeranian girls! They enjoy each others company, but are not truly bonded and do not have to be adopted together. Both of them are beautiful and crave attention. How do I act when I first meet new people? Precious is very cautious, but very loving. Once she knows you, she openly seeks attention. Other tips and tidbits: While Precious and Polar enjoy each other's company, they are not truly bonded and do not have to be adopted together. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
