About Kia

Aloha from Kia.. Kia is originally from the Maui Humane Society. I met Kaia when she was less than 3 months old and was able to foster her until her family at the time was packing/planning for adventures out west. Alaska to be exact. Kaia traveled from Maui to Wisconsin to Alaska and now back to Milwaukee. Her previous owners unfortunately separated and asked me if I could take her in since they no longer could provide for her. I didn't hesitate even though I already a dog. Previously, Rasta Girl (my dog) and Kaia spent a few months together where we helped get Kaia potty trained and how to walk properly on leash before she went on her adventure to Alaska. Fast forward 6 months.. and Kaia was back with myself and Rasta Girl. She is now almost a year old. She is a happy camper. She loves the outdoors, playing with sticks, hiking, running, car rides, and doing our training drills. Kaia is great at sit and stay, snuggles, naps, and I just learn she knows how to roll over. We have been working on ignoring squirrels and not shouting at other dogs while on walks because not every dog wants to play. Kaia has been around small children but can get excited so I have to remind her to stay down sometimes. She has been living with cats and sometimes she is curious but knows the 'no' or 'leave them alone' command. She has been around other dogs but I believe she would thrive with someone who is active, structured, enjoys the outdoors, and ready to keep up with her training. She loves to work it!
