About Cooper

Schnauzer
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Cooper is a rescue dog that was probably abandoned by his previous owner. My wife and I adopted him from our local animal shelter. Cooper was in poor shape when we got him but is now in good overall health. He does have cataracts and appears to have some hearing loss but is not totally deaf. The shelter said he had some seizures at the shelter and we had our vet treat him with medication. He has had no seizures while with us and no longer takes medication. During his time with us he has progressed from a very fearful dog to a quiet normal dog and now enjoys being petted. We had hoped to own Cooper for the rest of his life. Our previous dog was a Schnauzer an very much a part of our family for over ten years until his death. I am 79 years and my wife is 78, unfortunately we both have recently suffered declining health (stroke and congestive heart failure) and sadly are not able to give Cooper the type of care older dogs require. There are numerous stairs in our home that pose a balance problem for him and it is very difficult for us to take him for walks as falling is a serious problem for our health conditions. We believe Cooper would be fine dog for a family that did not have our health limitations.
