About Cotton-PENDING!

Cotton is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with the stunning golden and white streaks that run through his soft as cotton coat. Cotton has the cutest face ever with dark eyes filled with so much wisdom...you just want to hug this little cutie-pie close. Once he gets a sudsy bath and some great nutrition, Cotton will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 18 months old and a tiny 5 lbs (perfect lap dog), Cotton is a great size and weight to accompany his family just about everywhere a well-behaved tiny dog is welcome. A neighborhood walk would speak to this little guy's social nature and love of the outdoors. A back or front pack would provide this guy with a seat from above to enjoy the paths and trails when his tiny feet get tired. We're not sure exactly what happened to Cotton...maybe hit by a car or a similar accident. Whatever it was, Cotton came out of it needing to get his back leg amputated. We feel it was quite a while ago since Cotton has completely acclimated and can run and play with the best of them! He's also a very happy guy who doesn't seem the least bit frustrated with his physical challenge. Cotton is every bit the young pup...fun and active. At the same time, he is a happy and well-behaved pup (once he's used to his environment). It's natural for this little guy to express himself with a wagging tail and excited kisses of love. His joy knows no end once he's comfortable in his environment. At this early point in Cotton's development, he loves virtually everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Cotton to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We feel that Cotton would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older kids 12+ where voices are softer and the energy is calmer. We also understand that Cotton will be happiest and most fulfilled with retirees, a family that spends lots of time at home or those that can take a tiny guy along to a pet-friendly workplace. He will thrive on the time and attention that this lifestyle brings. Cotton's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He will require behavioral guidance and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about the world. In return Cotton will be a loyal and loving best friend and the greatest lap dog ever. When this adorable puppy falls in love, he falls hard. He gives 100% of himself to his relationships with both his people and his canine companions. Cotton will be up to date on his vetting. We're hoping that he will be neutered when he arrives from New Mexico, however there are too many dogs and too few vets in this industrial area of the state. If Cotton doesn't get neutered, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for him to be fixed and microchipped at one of our rescue vets to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
