About Meeko

Hello there! My name is Meeko, and I'm a playful, energetic, very family-friendly 45-pound black Lab/ Manchester Terrier mix female who was born in August 2015. I'm devoted and affectionate -- in short, a great house pet. Initially, I'm a bit timid in new situations and with new people, but once someone builds a relationship with me and I open up with them, then I'm all yours! I also tend to pick favorite people, and I recently heard my trainer say, 'If Meeko likes you, then she REALLY likes you. It's adorable when she chooses you.' That said, I may not be the best choice around very small children, around whom I may become timid and submissive again. However, if you use my obedience training, I just may handle kids well. I was raised alongside a male Chihuahua, so I'm good with other well-mannered dogs. Plus I've opened up a lot with the other dogs at doggie daycare, and I adore romping with them in the yard. I LOVE to play, so that's my favorite part of the day! Plus I'm getting professional obedience training so I'll be the best dog whom you could possibly adopt. I was adopted as a 2-month-old puppy into a very loving home. Unfortunately, my human got into a serious predicament with both his living situation and his personal life. It broke his heart when he finally realized that he couldn't provide me with the happy life that he thinks I deserve. So he made the difficult decision to surrender me to Buster's Friends in hopes that they can find me a wonderful new forever home.
